GEORGE NEWS - George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) is asking the public for help after a 20-year-old woman was assaulted and raped in Thembalethu on Saturday 7 September.
Anyone who has information that could help the police to trace the suspect is asked to please come forward.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies said it is alleged that the woman, who was walking her friend home, was accosted by a man near Jonga High School at about 22:00 when she was on her way home.
The man, described as a tall man who spoke Zulu, forced her into the bushes along the gravel road where he assaulted the woman before raping her.
