GEORGE NEWS – Police have launched an investigation following a shooting on the footbridge over the N2 highway near Thembalethu on Tuesday evening, 24 June.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, officers were dispatched to the scene at around 19:40.
On arrival, they found a man who had sustained a gunshot wound. He was stabilised and transported to the hospital by ambulance.
"An attempted murder case has been opened. The motive for the shooting remains unknown at this stage, and the suspect is still at large," says Spies.
Police urge anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
