GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - Uni-build Glass and Alu (Pty) Ltd, George, unveiled its new state-of-the-art roof profiling machine to the trade on Thursday 4 May. This has brought about a golden opportunity for Uni-build and ArcelorMittal South Africa to service the local construction and building industry.

The launch provided a unique opportunity to advise architects and building and roofing contractors on elements that can make Chromadek® and Chromadek ULTIM® the preferred roofing material.

Melvin Hickers, product manager at ArcelorMittal, explained that Chromadek ULTIM® is suitable for applications up to 400m from the sea while Chromadek® can be used 5km from the sea. “For peace of mind both products are warranted for a minimum of 10 years on colour and 20 years on rust, provided that the application guidelines, set out in the product datasheet on the online portal, are adhered to,” said Hickers.

Chromadek® is the only chrome-free, colour-coated steel roofing with environmentally conscious green aspects. The latest developments on this product are the four heat-reflective colours, including two shades of grey called Charcoal Grey and Dark Dolphin, that assist with energy efficiency and contribute to a cooler roof, lowering the roof temperature by 8oC on hot days. Authentic Chromadek® roof sheets can be identified by the Chromadek® trademark on the underside of every true Chromadek® sheet.

Other product presentations at the event included Kare Industrial Suppliers who educated the guests on the various types of quality fasteners available. One of the guests won a Luximo Designs shower head in a lucky draw.
