BUSINESS NEWS - Eta College in George has paved the way for aspiring sports and fitness professionals. Offering a range of qualifications from higher certificates to bachelor's degrees, the institution opens doors for students to pursue careers in the dynamic sports industry. Focusing on entrepreneurship and professional readiness, ETA College serves as a launch pad for students aiming to make their mark in sports science and management.
With only a matric certificate, students can qualify for the entry-level higher certificate in fitness, which serves as a stepping stone to more advanced qualifications.
"There is a high demand for our students, especially those who have completed one of our bachelor's degrees," says Armand Gerber, manager at ETA in George. "Our focus is to fully develop individuals ready to start their own business or work as instructors or managers in fitness-related institutions."
Twelve years ago, ETA's George campus began offering short courses for aspiring professionals. Since then, the institution has expanded to offer a wide range of qualifications, equipping students with essential tools for success. "While we hold on to our values, we continuously innovate. Our campus has advanced learning technologies and specialist lecturers," Gerber says.
ETA's commitment goes beyond academics. As a members of University Sport South Africa (USSA), students have opportunities to compete nationally against other institutions.
"No student is left behind," emphasises Gerber, adding that the college fosters a family-oriented atmosphere, ensuring every student receives the support they need to thrive. ETA's George qualifications are designed for job readiness, enabling graduates to confidently step into their careers.
