Advertorial
GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - Rundle College launched in January 2013 with only 15 students, all from the KeNako Academy and all entering IGCSE (Grade 10). At the time the need was to find a solution that offers greater flexibility for KeNako's sporting students.
Rundle College also needed to offer an education programme that would meet the requirements of KeNako's international students. Cambridge International Education (CIE) offered the solution, an option previously unavailable in George.
After much research, including extensive examination of several international curricula, including the Finnish system - today recognised as a leading light in education where students enjoy the shortest school day of all countries - a decision was taken to launch a Cambridge International (CIE) school.
In 2015, the first full year of AS Level students at Rundle College, students won top Cambridge International awards in two subjects, Business Studies and Environmental Management - a remarkable achievement. Similar top Cambridge student achievements have been achieved in each following year. Rundle College now has students studying at universities in several countries over the world.
Benefits of CIE
Independent research conducted relative to CIE and tertiary education indicates that AS/A Level Cambridge education puts students in their first year at university at an advantage. More Cambridge qualified students complete their undergraduate degree in the required time than students from other school education systems.
Why? CIE is about Outcome Based Learning and problem solving. Cambridge's educational system encourages thinking and the learning process assists students to know what they have to do to succeed. Students are better positioned to answer questions and to progress in life, while both verbal and written skills are improved.
Students learn to reconstruct or reconsider their existing knowledge, ideas and strategies. Focus is on how students can improve; not simply on how well they have done relative to a target or test.
Students in 162 countries of the world write uniform Cambridge International Examinations - no fear of a drop in education standards moving forward. Cambridge is accepted at universities around the world.
