GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - It is with great anticipation and excitement that Wilderness Christian Fellowship will be opening the doors to our new building in Wilderness East on 26 May.
Never did the handful of believers, who were granted the grace to gather at St Aiden's chapel at first, imagine that it would become a reality after approximately 18 years, to be able to build and gather in our own place.
In the meanwhile we have been accommodated by both hotels in Wilderness and, at one time, also by Hoekwil Primary School, to all of whom we are eternally grateful. It is only grace that has kept us going. It was quite a mission to keep everyone enthusiastic and excited to attend church when one has to move around, but looking on the bright side, it has been a good experience in learning to adapt and persevere in a creative way.
The building itself speaks of God's faithful provision and a congregation committed to stand together and serve. The decision was made by the leadership that we would not end up with a load of debt, and what you see now is the first phase, which will eventually be the youth and children's church, but at present will serve to hold the meetings.
We are so grateful to be able to say, "Paid in cash!" The second phase will be the main auditorium, which will be able to accommodate about 400 people. We trust that our Heavenly Father will complete the good work that He has started, and in the process use us, his humble tools, to be part of it!
It is our desire to have this place of worship as a beacon of light, and a place from which we serve our community here in Wilderness - certainly to be used throughout the week, not only on a Sunday.
We invite anyone who would like to view the building and be part of our opening and dedication on 26 May at 10:00 to join us in celebrating God's faithfulness. You are all most welcome!
Sunday services are at 09:30.
We can be contacted on 084 240 5414 or 084 327 2424.
To God be the glory!
