Mantashe says SA must support poverty reduction efforts

BUSINESS NEWS - African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Gwede Mantashe has highlighted the importance of South Africans supporting government's poverty reduction efforts.

In his budget speech on Wednesday Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan stated the importance of transformation to achieve a more balanced structure of ownership and control in the country's economy.

Mantashe says government should not be alone in ensuring transformation.

“People must participate and that is why we must change the narrative of delivery which implies sitting back and waiting for the state.”
