BUSINESS NEWS - The Department of Employment and Labour Inspection and Enforcement Services (IES) in the Western Cape Province, will embark on week-long blitz inspections targeting workplaces in the George CBD zone/area.
The inspections will test compliance levels in the Community, Construction, Private Security and Transport sectors.
The inspections will focus on legislation compliance pertaining to Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Unemployment Insurance (UI) and the National Minimum Wage (NMW).
During the project, the employment of foreign nationals will be documented and a list of those companies employing foreign nationals will be handed to the Department of Home Affairs – Immigration section in George.
