Twenty restaurants were named as the 'Top twenty' on the Garden Route, they include: Flava Cafe; Pomodoro; La Rosa Blu; East Head; Enrico; Lemon Grass; 34 Degrees South; Caloroso; Salinas; Cafe Gannet; The Rose; Bramon; Lauren’s Deli; The Fat Fish; The Olive Tree; The Town House; The Grand Cafe and Rooms; Route 57 and The Table.
The awards are a highlight of the year for restaurants and eating establishments, which enjoy the affirmation of culinary excellence being upheld. Anne Hadley, Francois Ferreira, from Francois Ferreira Academy, and Esther de Villiers, CXPress, are the co-convenors of the event of which Anne was the founder in memory of her late husband.

In the legends category the following awards were made: Serendipity; The Girls; Pembreys; Travel Bugs; La Laconda; Ile de Pain; TransKarroo; The Bell; Roadside Deli and Kafe Serefe.
Best of Placques
In the 'Best of' category: Best Family Restaurant - Zucchini; Best Coffee Emporium - Baruch’s; Best Hotel - Restaurant La Cantina, Fancourt; Best Service - Kurland; Best Resort Dining - The Orchid Room Simola; Best Deli Style dining - Clare’s Cake and Deli; Best Cafe Style Dining - Bayleaf; Best Casual Style Dining - The Veg Table; Best new kid on the block - The Bench and Calandra.
Other awards bestowed included: Serer of the Year which Blessing Nkonsa of Caloroso Cafe received; Wine Steward of the Year - Kerwin Ligtenberg, Zinzi; Young Chef - Michael Ashley Underwood, The Girls Restaurant.
