GEORGE BUSINESS NEWS - Dr Herbie Taute, a general practitioner from Bethlehem, joined Dr Ado du Toit's practice at Harry Mann Square at the beginning of July.
The two doctors have teamed up under the name "Live Life Health Hub" to offer a holistic approach to health care.
Dr Taute is handling all patient visits while Dr Du Toit concentrates on wellness support groups for patients who are diagnosed with chronic illnesses such as hypertension, HIV and diabetes.
At the regular group meetings Dr Du Toit will give encouragement and expert advice to patients on adapting to their illness and following a healthy lifestyle. "When someone is diagnosed with a chronic illness such as diabetes or HIV, it is usually a big shock to the patient and their family. Ado would like to provide ongoing support through these groups," says Dr Taute.
He and his wife, Erica, fell in love with George during their vacations in this area. "We want our children to grow up here as we feel there are more opportunities for their development," says Dr Taute.
He qualified at the Free State University in 2001. Dr Taute worked in Ireland for 18 months until 2006 when he joined Mediclinic Welkom, where he established the emergency centre. From there they moved to Bethlehem where he had his own practice for the past nine years.
The Tautes are parents to three daughters, Claudia (Grade 6), Chloë (Grade 3) and Carmen (Grade R), who have been enrolled at George South Primary School. They love to spend their free time together as a family and will be taking many walks on the lovely beaches in the area.
Live Life Health Hub is situated on the first floor of Harry Mann Square and can be contacted on 044 873 5344.
