BUSINESS NEWS - At Cape Garden, family isn’t just where our story began - it’s still at the heart of everything we do. More than 30 years ago, Nona van Niekerk, a courageous mother of four, started a small nursery under the loquat trees on her Vredendal farm. She was just 36, driven by a dream to support her family by growing beautiful, healthy plants - with love, care and purpose

That dream has since grown into five retail garden centres, a growing farm and online store, all still rooted in Nona’s values of passion, care, respect and determination.

We’re proud to grow our plants ourselves on the original farm where it all began - ensuring quality from the ground up.

Opening our newest branch in George marks a very special chapter. Nona’s granddaughter, Nicola, and her partner, Dewaldt, relocated to the Garden Route to carry this family legacy forward and plant new roots in this beautiful community

But above all, we believe the true heartbeat of our business is our team. Their warmth, passion and commitment are what make Cape Garden bloom.

We are honoured to be a Best of George nominee, and we look forward to growing with this special community - rooted in family, and always growing with heart.
