GEORGE NEWS & VIDEOS - There was gratefulness all around at the Garden Route Botanical Garden last Friday, 10 September, when the George Business Chamber donated R7 500 each to two charitable organisations, Moontime Community and Sanca George.
The money was raised at a golf day earlier this year.
The manager of the George Business Chamber, Bernadette Schaap, handed over the cheques to Kirsten Ruhnke, co-founder of Moontime Community, and Denise de Beer, director of Sanca George. Schaap said these two charities were among those the chamber has identified to receive donations.
"It is a great privilege to help these two amazing organisations. It is always nice to give something back to the community in these troubling times," said Schaap.
Ruhnke thanked the chamber for the generous donation, which will enable Moontime Community to change the lives of 30 girls.
De Beer thanked the chamber for thinking of Sanca. The organisation is currently expanding its services in the Garden Route, focusing on intervention in the working place. The need at the moment is for computers that staff can use when they go into the communities to help.
