In its first month of existence, Georgians discovered the enjoyable Sunday buffet spread. Golf mecca
The name of the restaurant is inspired by the renowned Augusta National Golf Club located in Augusta, Georgia, in the United States of America and one of the most famous golf clubs in the world. The restaurant owners felt that this distinctive name would be an appropriate nod in the direction of the five-star golf resorts proudly surrounding George. Golfers can feel at home in the luxurious surroundings of the restaurant which offers extensive cocktail options, an after-match venue as well as entertainment. In short: a restaurant where generous dining options range from cosmopolitan to five-star cuisine and with novel food creations.
Exciting staff mix
The restaurant staff have been handpicked for their five-star hotel background and their combined skills set. The team is headed by general manager and shareholder Regan Wilson, who has worked at The Palace of the Lost City, Fancourt and the Twelve Apostles Hotel. Foreign and wholesome recipes are the forte of Chef Paul Tugwell, having worked at the Savoy in London and Oceano Restaurant in Malaga, Spain. The pastry chef, Jonathan Smith is also a master at creating artisan bread and Danish pastries. The front-of-house manager, Vernon Wright, ensures that diners enjoy a seamless experience.

What sort of dish can you expect to see on the fine dining menu? Pork belly confit with burnt apple puree; butter bean croquettes and gooseberry juice. For starters, Tuna Loins Tataki (lightly seared), served on Asian greens with a honey Teriyaki glaze. For dessert, Rooibos and Honey Crème Brulée with wild berries, freshly seasoned fruits and ginger soil. All at affordable prices.
A piano player adds to the atmosphere which livens up when sundowners are served on the terrace. Here urbanites can chill while sipping pre-dinner cocktails or after-work drinks with friends.
