GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality has notified residents that the landfill site is temporarily closed this morning for operational and safety reasons.
Due to limited disposal space, the current unavailability of the bulldozer, and extremely muddy road conditions causing vehicles to become stuck, it is not safe or practical to continue operations at this time.
The bulldozer is currently en route, and once on site, work will be carried out to improve access conditions and create additional disposal space.
The site is expected to reopen at 13:00 today.
