GEORGE NEWS AND VIDEO - The Go George bus service concluded a week of celebratory activities with a fun-filled festival at the Transport Hub on Saturday, 7 December 2024.
Starting with just three routes and 12 buses 10 years ago, Go George has grown to a fleet of 133 buses serving 34 routes.
The celebrations highlighted the service's role in connecting communities and enhancing public transport accessibility.
On the anniversary day, a festive atmosphere took over the town with special bus decorations, giveaways, and engagements with passengers on all routes, emphasising their contributions to this milestone.
At the Transport Hub, passengers enjoyed and participated in a lively outdoor broadcast by local radio station Eden FM.
Speakers - including management and drivers who rolled out the first wheels on 8 December 2014 - entertained listeners with anecdotes about those early days.
The celebration week concluded with a sense of pride and community spirit, reflecting on a decade of reliable service and future growth.
