GEORGE NEWS - Garden Route District Municipality’s George Fire Station has been activated to respond to a veld fire along the Seven Passes Road, east of Touwsranten.

The fire is currently contained, and mopping-up operations are underway. 

The area is infested with wattle, which causes deep-seated fire activity and therefore requires a sufficient water supply to fully extinguish.

If you spot a veld or wildfire, please report it immediately to the GRDM Emergency Call Centre at 044 805 5071 or via WhatsApp at 081 709 5193.
