MOTORING NEWS - The Mercedes-Benz “140 Years. 140 Places” World Tour received a warm Garden Route welcome in George, bringing together international Mercedes-Benz guests, local representatives and motoring enthusiasts for an evening celebrating the brand’s rich heritage and latest technology.
Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts gather in George
Mercedes-Benz Club South Africa chairperson Waldo Scribanti hosted a group of Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts in George, welcoming guests from Mercedes-Benz internationally and Mercedes-Benz South Africa.
The gathering allowed the international visitors to experience traditional South African hospitality while connecting with local Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts.
Guests were treated to a traditional sheep braai, and many also had their first taste of a local favourite - pap and sous.
For the international visitors, the evening also provided an authentic taste of South African hospitality, making the George stop a memorable part of the world tour.
Two S-Class vehicles arrive in George
One of the highlights of the evening was the arrival of two S-Class vehicles taking part in the international Mercedes-Benz expedition. The vehicles attracted considerable attention, and the guests impressed by the modern dashboard design, spacious interior and range of technology-driven features.
Particular interest was shown in the vehicles’ advanced technology, including the integration of artificial intelligence.
A journey through Mercedes-Benz history
The event also allowed the guests to look back at the history of one of the world’s best-known motoring brands.
A collection of some of the oldest Mercedes-Benz vehicles was on display, providing a glimpse into the evolution of Mercedes-Benz from its earliest vehicles to the highly sophisticated models of today.
