GEORGE NEWS - Ready to pair some tapas with a bit of theatre?
Try this exciting new concept at the George Arts Theatre from 3 to 6 May, where you have the opportunity to explore different genres of the performing arts while nibbling on a hearty snack.
Creative director of the George Society of Arts Quintin van Biljon said Tapas Theatre will give actors, directors and producers in the area an equal chance to gain experience and exposure with all kinds of new genres.
"We do this by designing and creating a new format for these productions - one where the theatre experience plays on all senses by providing a visual, auditory, taste and smell experience like never before!" he said.
On the platter
The first tapa is something Greek to accompany the drama unfolding in Medea. Then you will have something hearty to snack on that goes with Ye Olde Shakespearean English in Twelfth Night, and to end off the first half, a delightful, classy tapa will add to the cultural experience of The Importance of being Earnest.
Some wine or juice will accompany it all.
The second act starts with a delightful macaron to add some sweetness to A Doll's House, ending with a shattering surprise on your plate and on stage for The Glass Menagerie, of course always paired with something to sip on.
Book your tickets for an evening of drama, comedy, food and wine through Computicket or at the theatre's box office at 125 York Street.
