GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The 2023 Wilderness Art Festival is brought to you in Steampunk style by the Wilderness Art Association from 20 to 23 April.
The festival celebrates an aesthetical cohesion of the Victorian era and the Wild West, inspired by local musician Lauren Smith, aka Stretch, with the level of expert artistic talent the public has come to expect from our local artists.
The 2023 festival will meet all expectations with approximately 80 artists from across South Africa exhibiting and performing at three venues, the Wilderness Hotel, Palms Garden Square and Milkwood Village.
Three days packed full of fun activities, live music, workshops, book launches and poetry. The festival and all performances are free and open to the public.
Main events include the launch evening on Thursday 20 April, Night of 1 000 Drawings charity event on Friday 21 April, Freedom Feathers Fashion Show on Saturday 22 April and Kevin van Niekerk's Coffee Art Pouring on Sunday 23 April.

Participating restaurants will be hosting wine and gin tastings, including tasting Kleine Zalze Wines at the Wilderness Hotel. Wilderness' five art galleries will be open throughout the festival, creating a creative Art Walk through the village with wine and gin sampling along the way.
The full programme will be available soon.
Join this celebration of the arts in a historic setting of simple cogs and coils in motion.
