They epitomise a veritable showcase of talent. On Wednesday evening, during a networking session held to promote local entertainment personalities and members of the hospitality industry, they revealed the vast repertoire that they possess, while singing nostalgic 1950s numbers with great ease.
The Silver Stars include six sparkling singers who have an impressive repertoire. They include Christine Ardé, Lourens Obermeyer, Tamryn Oates, Beatrice Esterhuysen, Bronwyn Stammer and Pieter Raath. Since the beginning of the year they (as individuals) ploughed enormous energy into fundraising productions held at the theatre with a view to keeping arts alive in George.
In the meantime, they also need to make a living and are versatile enough to perform at weddings, corporate functions and any social functions. They can be reached through the arts theatre by phoning 044 874 3142.
During the evening superb snacks were served compliments of Sandra Harris of The Rose and Upstairs. The Backstage Coffee Lounge at the theatre can be hired for venues - contact the theatre to find out more.

These local show industry players have energised the Oakhurst Insurance George Arts Theatre during local productions giving freely of their time. Chairman of the arts theatre Heather Stead said she is gratified that showbiz people like these have helped to keep the arts alive.
