They urgently need the public's help to make this a reality and there are many ways to get involved. "We want to hold a concert titled Give a little love to raise funds for the party. All the funds raised will go towards buying presents and food for the children.
"The artists willing to perform at the fundraising concert before the party, have already been lined up."
Jovan and Thelma explained, "We would like to put a concert together to raise funds for a cause that we think can make a difference in the lives of our local children. Christmas is a time to care, to share and to give to the less fortunate."
Urgency
"The concept 'Give a little love' is aimed at making a difference in the life of a child that may echo into eternity. Think of it as giving a little to get a lot. There is not a lot of time left, but already local artists have agreed to perform for free. (Their names will be made public shortly.)
"We don't have a budget, but please help us make a difference. We would appreciate it if we could all stand together as a team. We still need a venue, a date, as well as to sell tickets, collect funds and buy toys. We will keep everyone in the loop. So if you would like to get involved, contact Jovan on 061 074 1803. We can then create a group so that everyone knows what's going on." Lourens Beukes (083 302 8131) has been generous enough to sponsor the entire sound system for the event.

A plea for help with arranging a benefit concert and Christmas party has been made by Jovan and Thelma Heyns (left). They sparkled at a recent Fancourt concert and afterwards the duo celebrated the birthday of their biggest supporter, mum Charlene Heyns (third from left). With them is Lourens Beukes, who has offered to do the sound and Elizma Prinsloo and Johann Prinsloo, who will be performing at the concert. Photo: Pauline Lourens
