GEORGE NEWS - The 9th Annual Africa Day Festival returns to the Witfontein Nature Reserve this weekend, taking place from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 May.
Organised by the Outenikwastat House of Rastafari, the event is billed as 'Reggae on the River' and promises a vibrant three-day celebration of arts, culture, live music and community.
Set along the Gwaiing River at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains, the festival offers a scenic outdoor experience where music, creativity and nature come together in a relaxed riverside setting.
This year's line-up features a diverse programme of live performances, with popular South African artist Hakkiesdraad headlining the weekend. Attendees can expect reggae, hip-hop, amapiano, jazz and poetry, alongside traditional African art forms, film screenings and cultural showcases.
A curated selection of craft and food stalls will be open throughout the weekend, while wellness and community-focused activities will also be on offer.
Festival-goers are encouraged to bring their camping gear and settle in for the full riverside experience.
The event follows a bring-your-own camping format and offers both season and day passes, and special rates are available for under-15s.
