The audience got goose-pimples after seeing zombies making their appearance on the Garden Route.The film was well received and Portia (who works at the George Herald as a designer) said afterwards, "People commented that we improved immensely since our first movie - A date with Destiny, which we produced last year. In Outcast the zombies stole the show."
The storyline is about Ben who returns from a hike to his home town Knysna to find his pregnant wife missing, and the town deserted except for the 'living dead'. Not knowing what happened while he was gone, he goes on a quest to find his wife, and to find out why he's the only person alive.
The movie is 32 minutes in duration, and stars local students including Leithon Fisher, Samantha van Wyk, Simoné Esterhuizen, Danyca Wallis and Angela Tomaselli. It was shot in George and Knysna.
