ENTERTAINMENT - The George Food, Wine & Beer Festival is in full swing at The Market inside the iconic Transnet Transport Museum every day from 09:00 to 17:00. This not-to-be-missed event is still running until this coming Sunday 30 June. And the best part? Free entry, so you can go every day!
This unique event brings together over 100 stalls, where you can explore a variety of flavours in the food court and discover exciting wine farms and alcoholic beverage producers.
Some of the featured names include Grundheim Craft Distillers, Calitzdorp Wine Cellar, Herold Wines, SA Moerse Lekker, Bayede Royalty Signature Wine s, Thorny Creek Craft Brewery and Outeniqua Brew Co.
Live music will accompany your experience, with Wim Erasmus, popular local artist, will perform this coming weekend on Friday and Saturday from 15:00 to 17:00.
But it’s not just about indulging your taste buds and enjoying great music. Your participation also supports a worthy cause. SA for Hope, a non-profit organization, assists needy farmers and farm workers in the Karoo, Western parts of the Eastern Cape, and local communities.
And while you’re there, don’t miss the opportunity to explore more than 14 000m² of historical items housed at the museum. You can also witness the departure and arrival of the world-famous Outeniqua Power Van, which travels into the Outeniqua Mountain and back.
So, gather your friends and family, and head to The Market at Transnet Transport Museum. It’s not just an event; it’s a celebration of local flavours, music, and community spirit.
