ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - Like so many industries in this uncharted and somewhat merciless time, the arts unfortunately also had to take a backseat to what is deemed essential.
This, however, has not stopped the Oakhurst Insurance George Arts Theatre from creating and finding new ways to entertain.
In pursuit of keeping our doors open and to give exposure to our fantastic local talents, the theatre has some extremely exciting and innovative projects coming up very soon.
Theatre lovers, artists and anyone who loves watching all things entertaining can look forward to an Online Talent Show hosted and run by our very own George Arts Theatre. Contestants can submit their videos, which will be judged by a celebrity panel who will in turn give their feedback and recommendations via online platforms.
And of course, there are great prizes to be won! Theatre members are also excited about sharing a Theatre Event which features a variety of our amazing local talents.
These artists have used the lockdown period to produce amazing videos for this brilliant event. Then, who wouldn’t love a comic, tongue-in-cheek web series starring your local jesters? Rustelose Data is a web series about the frustration of complex living during #SAlockdown, which all of South Africa can look forward to seeing very soon. Updates on all these projects shall be shared on various platforms.
The Oakhurst Insurance George Arts Theatre would appreciate any sponsors to help with these fantastic projects.
Donations can still be made towards The Save Our Theatre Fund to help pay the necessary bills. Please visit the Oakhurst Insurance George Arts Theatre’s Facebook page for more information on all the projects and on how to donate.
