GEORGE NEWS - The Eden Camerata Choir from George will be giving their last performance for the year on Saturday 7 December at 19:00 in the Dutch Reformed Church Hall, Napier Street, Blanco.
This year they participated in the National Choir Festival held in the Feather Market Hall in Gqeberha.
Their recent spring series lunch hour concert in the Dutch Reformed Mother Church was highly acclaimed.
A highlight for the choir this year was singing well-known composer Chris Lamprecht’s compositions for him in celebration of his 97th birthday.
Eden Camerata Choir was established in June 2022 by a small group of experienced singers.
Their goal was to sing on a more regular basis and share their love of music with others. By October of that year the choir had nine members and began performing.
Under the direction of Dr Andre van Zyl the choir now consists of 18 members and performs regularly in the Southern Cape. The choir sings choral, secular and light music in a number of languages.
Entry to the performance on 7 December is free. Donations will be welcome.
