GEORGE NEWS - Four dance schools are gearing up for Dance Mosaic - Dancing for Dogs, a yearly dance performance at the George Arts Theatre in aid of animal welfare. The show will be staged this coming Friday, 24 May and Saturday, 25 May (15:00 and 19:00), with a gala evening on Saturday.
As always, the proceeds will be donated to the local animal welfare organisation People's Dispensary for Sick Animals SA (PDSA), that will run sterilisation drives for Borcherds Paws and Cat Garden Route.
VitalVet and Dotsure Pet Insurance are the sponsors of this event, while Jakkalsvlei sponsors the wine at the gala event. The food at the gala event is provided by Delicious Monster.
"The aim is to help these organisations with mass sterilisations of township animals," said ballet school owner Abbi Geldenhuys. "Ballet, contemporary, Spanish, tap, modern and gumboot dancers will join forces to bring Dance Mosaic alive for its 10th anniversary."
Supporters of this stunning initiative will be entertained by choreographed dance items from the Abbi Geldenhuys Academy of Ballet, Melissa Page School of Dance, Marlise's School of Spanish Dance, and gumboot dancers Siya and the Boys.
Guests are kindly asked to bring a donation of dog or cat food as part of their entry fee, after purchasing a ticket for the show. Tickets are available at George Arts Theatre, Checkers and Computicket, and cost R120 (adults), R100 (kids) and R350 for the gala event, including the wine and food.
