GEORGE NEWS - Professional dancers, talented singer-dancers and a band will feature in a once-off dance and musical extravaganza at Fancourt.
The Dance Kaleidoscope will be staged this Friday 27 October at 19:00 in Fancourt's ball room.
Three George dance studios will entertain the audience with a kaleidoscope of vibrant dancing and singing.
Artistic director Dr Ronell van Aswegen has put together a programme of wide variety of music and dance genres.
The singer-dancers, accompanied by a band under the baton of Niall Jack, will perform excerpts from Hairspray.
They are: Emma de Villiers as Amber, Nicole Moss as Tracy, Robyn Kellerman as Penny and Stephanie Linder as Edna.
The audience will be charmed by Esona Dingi, Jerishia Nicol and Cara Kaboni as The Dynamites. Hope Mkhungo's commanding performance as Motormouth Maybelle is sure to be a highlight.
Talented dancers from Christelle Smit Dance Studio will enthral the audience with dazzling dances, choreographed to music by Antonio Vivaldi, Calum Scott and Coldplay.
The audience can look forward to the guest appearance of character dancer Monique Zürich, who will interpret a Jacques Brel composition.
Students of York High's Let's Dance Studio are practising hard for Fancourt's Kaleidoscope of Dance and Classical Music.
Elvinia's Dance Academy will dance excerpts from Swan Lake, the ballet by Peter Tchaikovsky, as well as character dance on a Hungarian Czardas.
They are sure to enchant with their brilliant dance on a song by Karen Zoid for which they were named episode champions in the kykNET competition, Dans in jou Taal.
Tickets are R150 per adult and R20 for scholars.
