GEORGE NEWS - One of South Africa's most famous classical musicians, the highly acclaimed pianist Ben Schoeman, will perform for the George Music Society on Sunday 9 October at 15:30 at the Dotsure George Arts Theatre.
Schoeman has received many awards and accolades from all over the world. He has studied with renowned professors and obtained a doctorate in music from the University of London and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a thesis on the piano works of the South African composer Stefans Grové.
He has given performances and played in festivals all over the world, including London, Berlin, Lisbon, Milan, Bucharest and Cape Town. He is currently senior lecturer in piano and musicology at the University of Pretoria where he received the Laureate Award.
He will perform works by JS Bach, Franz Liszt, César Franck and Robert Schumann.
Tickets are available at the box office of the Arts Theatre during office hours or at www.georgemusicsociety.co.za. Tickets cost R150 for the public, R100 for members and R40 for learners.
