GEORGE NEWS - The Blanco Primary School's learners and their parents joined the members of the Voortrekkers and other organisations on Thursday evening, 28 May, to rescue the chameleons that had been displaced by the recent flooding and severe weather conditions.
About 160 chameleons were rescued during the operation. Some were released in trees on the school grounds, while the others were relocated to the Garden Route Botanical Garden.
The school thanked all the learners and parents who volunteered their time to help search for and rescue the reptiles, proving that small acts can make a big difference for local wildlife.
