RUGBY NEWS - All eyes will be on the Dotsure SWD Eagles this coming Saturday when Coach Heyneke Meyer’s exciting young squad runs out onto the field to secure their fifth consecutive SA Cup win.
The Dotsure SWD Eagles will face the Toyota Cheetahs at their home ground, Outeniqua Park Stadium in George, after beating the Valke 43-40 in Gauteng last weekend.
Since Meyer took over as the Eagles’ coach this year, he has worked magic with the players and, with Dotsure on board as the team’s title sponsor, the side now has the fuel to revive the glory days of the Eagles.
Dotsure believes in Meyer and his players and has made a huge investment in the future of the team to ensure that the Dotsure SWD Eagles have everything they need to return to top-tier competition.
Dotsure’s Chief Commercial Officer, Glen Anderson, is a proud George boy who is incredibly excited that Dotsure can play a major role in bringing the team back to the level they deserve. “We wish the Dotsure SWD Eagles only the very best for this coming Saturday and all their other matches as we watch them soar all the way to a glorious return to Currie Cup rugby.”
Coach Meyer says the team will have to bring their A game on Saturday if they want to emerge as victors. “Our defence will have to be rock solid as the Cheetahs love running with the ball. I have full confidence in all my players and, in front of our inspiring and spirited home crowd, we want to give nothing but our very best.”
Ten teams compete in the SA Cup to qualify for four available spots in the Currie Cup, alongside the Bulls, Lions, Stormers and Sharks.
The Dotsure SWD Eagles are currently in third place with 22 points, behind the Pumas in second and the Griquas at the top of the leaderboard.
Saturday’s game at Outeniqua Park Stadium kicks off at 15:00. See you there!
