GEORGE HOCKEY NEWS - York High will be hosting its annual Easter Hockey Festival from Saturday to Monday, 16 to 18 March. This will be the 44th year of the prestigious tournament which attracts some of the top-playing hockey schools annually.
A total of 27 teams will participate in this year's festival. At first all the matches were played on grass, but over the years the festival has progressed to all matches but four played on Astro turf this year.
York has expressed its thanks to Outeniqua High School for making their Astro courts available for the festival and trust teams will appreciate more time on Astro.
Matches at York and Outeniqua High will start at 07:30 daily and the public is welcome to come and join in the fun and excitement. The Quarry facility in Union Street will be open every day for something to eat and drink.
