GEORGE NEWS - The George Squash Club held its first ever Professional Squash Association (PSA) Tour event from 24 to 26 January. It was the first ever PSA event held in the Southern Cape.
The event drew entries from all over South Africa, as well as from as far afield as Namibia and Zambia.
With squash making its debut as an Olympic sport at LA28 (the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles), much effort is made worldwide to raise the profile of the sport.
The matches were of a high standard and the event gave the players the opportunity to gain PSA ranking points.
The next PSA squash event will be held this weekend in Mossel Bay.
