JC Visser competed in the men's Open section and came first in the duathlon. Not only did he win his category, but he was the overall winner in die triathlon after leading the race from start to finish.
Visser finished the 10km run in 35:15, the 40km cycling in 1:00:09 and the 5km run in 19:14 for his overall first position in a total time of 1:54:38.
He has now qualified to represent Eastern Province at the South African National Championships later this year. Tim Toovey also competed in the same event in the men's section (25-29 years) and finished third in the triathlon. He achieved his personal best time in the cycling section, which catapulted him from ninth to third position.
Toovey finished the 1,5km swimming in 25:54, the 40km cycling in 1:00;23 and the 10km run in 50:00 for his third position in a total time of 2:15;47.
He has also qualified to represent Eastern Province at the South African National Championships later this year.
