GEORGE NEWS - George Bowling Club walked away with the honours in the recently held Eden senior ladies fours event. The finals were held at the Vista Bowling Club on Tuesday 12 October.
The two George teams met in one of the semi-finals where Peta Ann Basford's team won by the narrow margin of only two shots.
In the finals, the team came up against the experienced team from Leisure Isle Bowling Club, skipped by current Eden District player Jenny Raymond. It was a "ding-dong" battle, but in the end the team from George Bowling Club took the honours.
In the play-off for third place, the team of Wendy Murray came up against the team from Outeniqua, which was skipped by another Eden District player, Nan Roos. Here again the team from George Bowling Club came out on top, and took the bronze medal.
