GEORGE NEWS - The third round of the Six Gun Grill SWD Premier League was contested on Saturday. All eyes will be on the two unbeaten log leaders that will lock horns this Saturday - defending champions Pacaltsdorp United and newly promoted Sussex.
Both Pacaltsdorp and Sussex recorded narrow victories on Saturday.
In a match that was shortened to 39 overs per team due to inclement weather conditions, Pacaltsdorp (167 all out) won by three runs against Harlequins Forces (164/8). For Pacaltsdorp, Enathi Kitshini (4/4) and Pieter Stuurman (53) were the standout players.
Sussex (167 all out) won by one wicket against Knysna Cavaliers (156/9) in a match that was reduced to 45 overs per team. The experienced Franco Geldenhuys contributed 49 for Sussex.
George (165 all out) recorded an important 23-runs victory away from home against Plett Pioneers (142 all out). De Wet Steyn (50) with a half century, together with Kelly Smuts (3/17), Ayabonga Antony (3/37) and Khwezi Gumede (3/37) were the heroes for George.
The match between Union Stars I and Union Stars II has been re-scheduled.
Pheko Moletsane batted a half century for Harlequins Forces in their match against Pacaltsdorp United.

A big clash is on the cards for Saturday when the two log leaders, Pacaltsdorp United and Sussex, will log heads in the Six Gun Grill SWD Premier League. The match will be played at D’Almeida Stadium in Mossel Bay.
Pieter Stuurman batted an impressive 53 runs for Pacaltsdorp United, who beat Harlequin Forces.
