CRICKET NEWS - Jonathan Beukes was appointed the new head coach of the Garden Route Badgers Colts, Academy and U19 teams.

He replaced Wynand de Ridder, who took up the position of head coach of the Garden Route Badgers' professional women's team.

Beukes, a former SWD player and captain, played in 92 First Class, 121 List A and 15 T20 matches and brings a wealth of experience to the province. 

He holds a Cricket SA level III coaching qualification and previously coached the University of the Free State. He was also formerly employed as the cricket services manager at SWD Cricket.

"We are grateful to have Jonathan back," commented Gary Moos, the cricket services manager of SWD Cricket. "He will make a significant contribution to our elite youth cricket systems."

Beukes will coach the Garden Route Badgers Colts team, the provincial academy and the Garden Route Badgers U19 team in the Cricket SA Khaya Majola U19 national tournament.
