CRICKET NEWS - Union Stars I, Pacaltsdorp United and Knysna Cavaliers recorded victories during the Six Gun Grill SWD Premier League fixtures played on 25 and 26 January.
At New Horizons, the defending champions, Pacaltsdorp United (255/9), posted a competitive total with all batters contributed and thereafter dismissed Plett Pioneers for only 117 for a 138-run bonus point victory.
Union Stars I (148 all out) consolidated their position at the top of the table with a 66-run bonus point victory against George (82 all out) at Rooirivierrif. The leg-spinner, Regan Rhode (5/12 in 8 overs), was in outstanding form to secure Union Stars a victory away from home.
Knysna Cavaliers (141/6) was victorious against Union Stars II (140 all out) in a clash at the Bridgton Sport Grounds.
The Garden Route Badgers u.19 captain, Josef Enslin (71), played a match-winning innings for the visitors to enable them a bonus point four-wicket victory.
Harlequins Forces, following a contravention of the administrative conditions, was suspended from all league competitions – including the premier league.
