CRICKET NEWS - George van Heerden, the top runs scorer for the Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers during the past season, has been included in the squad of 15 for the SA Emerging Men’s tour to Bangladesh from 6 to 31 May.
This team forms an important feeder system to the Proteas and SA’s A teams.
Due to this, the selected SA Emerging Men’s team will primarily consist of players identified as showing potential to fill future roles within the SA A and Proteas Men’s teams.
The Badgers have also confirmed the extension of Van Heerden’s contract with the Oudtshoorn-based team for the next season.
The team, who will be coached by Malibongwe Maketa, will play three one-day and two four-day matches.
