CRICKET NEWS - The Garden Route Badgers women’s team suffered defeats in both the final round of the Hollywoodbets Pro50 and Pro20 series matches last weekend.
The matches were played at the Recreation Ground in Oudtshoorn, but despite the defeats, the Badgers have escaped relegation and will remain in the Hollywoodbets Pro series next season.
The Badgers (119 all out) lost by six wickets against the Titans (123/4) in the Pro50 match.
Three international players, Laura Wolvaardt, Suné Luus and Masabatha Klaas, were in action for the Titans.
In the Pro20 match, thanks to Lizelle Lee (70), the Titans posted 147/9, after which the Badgers responded with 78/9 for a 69-run defeat.
