GEORGE NEWS - The 13th annual Carne’s Full Moon Beach Run will take place on Friday 2 January in Wilderness and runners and adventure enthusiasts are invited to be part of this special night event.
Participants will be running along a beautiful coastal route under the glow of the full moon which coincides perfectly with the stars and low tide on Friday.
The event is held in support of the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) Station 23 Wilderness and offers two distance options. The 21km race will start at 19:30 from Swartvlei Beach and the 7km run gets underway at 20:00 from Kleinkrantz Beach.
The race finishes at the Wilderness NSRI station.

A bus to transport runners at R80 per participant to Swartvlei will leave Wilderness Greens at 18:30. The bus taking runners to Kleinkrantz (R50 for the trip) will depart at 19:00.
All participants will receive free boerewors rolls and cooldrinks and medals will be handed over to all finishers.
Organised by Chain Gang Events, the run is supported by the NSRI, SANParks and SPAR Wilderness George.
