SCHOOLS SPORT - The inaugural Panarottis High School Squash League Challenge went down to the wire at the George Squash Club on Friday and Saturday, 28 and 29 August.

First teams from York High and Hoërskool Outeniqua in George, Langenhoven Gimnasium in Oudtshoorn and Hoërskool Langenhoven in Riversdale battled it out in a tournament marked by fierce rivalry and closely contested matches.

With everything riding on the final encounter, Outeniqua’s Christian Swanepoel produced a thrilling performance, edging York’s Ross Smorfitt 3-2 in an exciting and entertaining match. 

The result secured the overall victory for Outeniqua by the narrowest of margins.

Organisers thanked Panarottis George for sponsoring the event and the George Squash Club for making its facilities available for the tournament.
