SCHOOL NEWS - The recently released results of the Glenwood House matriculants stand as a beacon of academic excellence and dedication, underscoring the school's unwavering commitment to our Christian values, nurturing talent and fostering a culture of achievement.
Last year's cohort achieved a total of 152 distinctions with an average of 2,31 distinctions per student.
These remarkable accomplishments deserve the highest commendation and serve as a source of immense pride for the entire Glenwood House community. We are proud of you, Class of 2024!
Central to these accolades is the stellar performance of two exceptional scholars, Ann-Louise Coertze and Gabriel van der Westhuizen, who achieved an outstanding average of 90% and above. Their remarkable academic prowess reflects not only their personal diligence and determination but also the robust support system provided by the school. The achievements of Ann-Louise and Gabriel highlight the possibilities that emerge when hard work, talent, and opportunity converge.
A particular point of celebration is the 'full house' distinction achieved by these two students. This extraordinary feat, which involves achieving distinctions in every subject, underscores the high calibre of teaching and learning at Glenwood House. Such results do not come easily; they are the culmination of years of focused effort, unwavering commitment, and a drive for excellence from both students and their educators.
Behind these individual and collective achievements lies the invaluable contribution of Glenwood House's dedicated staff. The teachers' tireless efforts, innovative teaching methodologies, and genuine passion for education have created an environment where students can thrive. Their role goes far beyond delivering lessons; they serve as mentors, motivators and role models, guiding students through challenges and celebrating their successes. A heartfelt appreciation is due to every staff member who has contributed to these outstanding results.
In addition to the staff, it is essential to recognise the vital role of parents and guardians in supporting their children throughout their academic journey. Their encouragement, sacrifices and unwavering belief in their children's potential have undoubtedly played a significant role in these achievements. Education is a collaborative endeavour, and the partnership between the school, students and families has clearly flourished at Glenwood House.
The exceptional results achieved last year are a testament to Glenwood House's holistic approach to education rooted in Christian values. Beyond academics, the school emphasises the development of well-rounded individuals who are equipped to excel in various spheres of life. This balance is critical in fostering resilience, adaptability, and a lifelong love of learning - qualities that will serve these matriculants well as they step into the next phase of their lives.
As these young scholars prepare to embark on their journeys into higher education and beyond, they carry with them the legacy of their achievements and the values instilled by their alma mater. The Glenwood House Class of 2024 has set an inspiring example for future cohorts, proving that excellence is not only attainable but also sustainable with the right mindset and support.
