GEORGE NEWS - Chairman of the National Youth Development Agency (Nyda), Sifiso Mtsweni, has delivered on his promises to open a Nyda branch in the Southern Cape.
Mtsweni promised to open the office in George during the Youth Dialogue in Business gathering at Fancourt in August 2017.
Mtsweni, who is running for the presidency of the ANC Youth League, launched the Nyda Garden Route Branch on Tuesday 4 February at the George Civic Centre. The event was scheduled to start at 09:00, however the ANC-hopeful arrived quite late, causing a flutter among the attendees.
The Nyda office will tackle youth-related issues and offer services such as helping with bursary applications, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship and other skills development programmes free of charge.
The new office is on the first floor of the Old Mutual Building on the corner of York and Hibernia streets. It is open from 08:00 to 17:00 on weekdays.
