NATIONAL NEWS - The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) has welcomed the pronouncement that from 2019 job seekers will no longer need work experience to get an entry-level government job.
The pronouncement was made by Public Service and Administration Minister Ayanda Dlodlo.
The agency said it has championed this call on various platforms, including the recently-held Jobs Summit.
“The NYDA has been at the centre of this discourse through lobbying and advocacy. Even during the much-anticipated Jobs Summit, we remained steadfast that the only practical way to reduce the high youth unemployment rate in the immediate is scrapping of experience for all entry-level jobs,” NYDA executive chairman Sifiso Mtsweni said.
He said the agency remains the hope for young people as it will drive the agenda for socio-economic emancipation.
The minister has also declared the introduction of a new Z83 form for application for vacancies.
