NATIONAL NEWS - Piet Combrinck is sad and angry after cruel criminals poisoned his three-month-old Rottweiler to gain access to his property.

Combrinck said a water pipe burst at his house on Tuesday night and not wanting to waste water he closed off the supply. When he woke at about 4.20 am on Wednesday morning he had to go outside to open the water supply again in order to take a shower. He suspected noticing untoward when he got outside as his dog was playful when she saw him.

He went back in and while busy inside heard his dog bark ferociously but knowing a cat sometimes comes into the yard assumed this was the case.
