The project seeks to provide 9.6 gigawatts of nuclear power at a cost of an estimated R1 trillion by 2030.
Some lobby groups have accused government of corruption, saying a deal has already been made with Russian state-owned company Rosatom.
Eskom's Khulu Phasiwe has described the interest as a good turnout.
“South Africa has found a memorandum of understanding with five countries, these include China and the USA. The countries that have shown interest all come from these areas.”
