While no changes have taken place externally, the two model line-up now come with an additional driver’s knee airbag resulting in a total of seven, ISOFIX mounting points in the second row and a new 120-volt socket to charge electronic devices. The list of standard equipment is otherwise kept as is.
Also revised is the Pajero Sport’s towing capacity, with Mitsubishi now claiming a mass of 2 700kg for the two-wheel drive, and 2 790kg for the four-wheel drive derivative. Unchanged though is the powerunit up front, where the 2.4 DI-D turbodiesel engine continues to produce 133kW/430Nm, teamed with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The four-wheel drive model is again equipped with Mitsubishi’s SuperSelect II system that allows the change from two to high range four-wheel drive to be carried out at speeds up to 100km/h, and comes with a choice of four modes; Gravel, Mud/Snow, Sand and Rock.
As before, the Sport comes standard with three year/100 000km warranty and five year/90 000km service plan, while pricing remains unchanged at R569 995 for the 4x2 and at R599 995 for the 4x4.
