Now into its third year of production, Ingolstadt’s rival for the all-new BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE is set to receive a handful of exterior updates as indicated by the images snapped by carscoops.com, which shows the prototype with masking on the front bumper and panels, at the base of the doors, around the rear wheel arches and on the entire rear facia.
Despite the subtle disguise, a number of the Q7’s new exterior additions are visible, namely a smaller grille, new headlights with integrated daytime running LEDs, and while it still features the current model’s taillights, the online platform claims that those will make for newly designed items set to be full-LEDs with dynamic indicators.
According to the article, the interior is likely to mirror that of the revised A4 instead of being brand-new like the Q3 or Q8, with an all-new layout and design expected to come to the fore only when the next generation is launched. No technical details were revealed either, but again expect the Q7 to come with updated TFSI and TDI engines without the hybrid assistance like those of the A6, A7 and A8.
Given the comparatively light amounts of masking, the Q7 could make its world premiere sometime next year.
