Unveiled in 2011 as the third generation SLK but renamed SLC in 2016, the Final Edition will make its official public debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month, and comes with a number of special touches such as five-spoke, 18-inch AMG alloy wheels as per the standard AMG Line body kit fitted, carbon fibre-like inserts on the headrests, two-tone Nappa leather sport seats in black/silver with Alpaca grey stitching also found on the doors and centre console, a Nappa and carbon leather sports steering wheel, carbon leather SLC branded gear lever on automatic models, chrome exterior detailing on models finished in Obsidian Black or Selenite Grey and a new colour option called Sun Yellow that pays homage to the Yellowstone hue offered on the original SLK launched in 1996.
Up front, the Final Edition carries on with the existing range of SLC engines, the 115kW/250Nm 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol in the SLC 180, the 2.0-litre turbo that offers up 135kW/300Nm in the SLC 200 or 180kW/370Nm in the SLC 300 and the 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 in the AMG SLC 43 that makes 287kW/520Nm. Whereas the former models are offered with a six-speed manual gearbox or the optional 9G Tronic automatic, the latter pair feature the self-shifter as standard.
In Germany, the SLC Final Edition will arrive on dealership floors next month with pricing from €41 536 (R662 504).
